Ntlai “Aubuti” Mosiah

Ntlai “Aubuti” Mosiah

Co-Founder
“Aubuti-Mike”-Ntlai : Soweto-born intellect, leader, community builder and entrepreneur. Aubuti started his career programming in the 90’s using DOS (also known as MS-DOS). He is likened as the South African Woz & Paul Gardner Allen. In Mzansi, while kids at the time were focussed on fooling around, Aubuti Ntlai’s parents had a vision of their children gaining unrivalled expertise in IT. Being the visionaries they were, they paved the way for Aubuti’s current career. It is said that the recipe of champions is consistency (Malcolm Gladwell - The Outliers), and nothing could be truer of Aubuti Ntlai, fondly known in the KasiKlippa Team as “Mike”. He brings a solid track record from Deloitte, Standard Bank (over 14 years) and Autonomi Capital, the latter an independent provider of financial and strategic advice to the energy, infrastructure and resources sectors, in Africa and beyond. “What’s in a name” they say? At KasiKlippa we are a brand that tells the African story in a South African manner. Aubuti is nicknamed Mike, because his European co-founders initially battled with the pronunciation of his name. Obviously the team now knows his name, however the joke remains an internal one and is exemplary of how we, as a team, go beyond caste, stereotypes and race to bring much needed economic change to our communities and continent at large. Aubuti Mike serves the team as acting CEO & Board Member, offering his voluminous experience in strategy, business leadership and mentoring *(particularly within the finance and investment space) professional business culture building and community builder; in ensuring KasiKlippa becomes South Africa’s first lucrative and impactful loyalty program - the only one on the African continent that offers loyalty points towards investment and community building, while ensuring ROI for our all our stakeholders.
David Gary “Juba” Nhlapo

David Gary “Juba” Nhlapo

Co-Founder
The following is a true story (not a KasiKlippa by the fire-side brand story): You may have known him as Gerry; or Gary; or David. His mom nick-named him Juba (isiZulu for Dove). Born Gary David Nhlapo, later by pure (and maybe innocent special citizen’s department) human error became Gerry, LOL. A true people’s person and rural Zulu son, hailing from rural Eastern Cape, thrives on community development, business development, and marketing - especially loyalty marketing. David is son of one of South Africa’s very first black post masters, Marcus Wellie Nhlapo (1950’s -80’s). David lives, breathes and thrives on “Business is the solution to society's problems…” (Prof. Michael Porter); and “You cannot give what you do not have…” (Raymond Ackerman - Four Legs of The Table). As his late father traveled across South Africa assisting in establishing postal services in black communities (because of his (multi-lingual prowess) , was David borne and purposed to putting & serving communities’ needs first to the greater good of families. He’s read an undergraduate degree in Politics and Economics from the University of Cape Town, RSA, and later further articulating his studies at the prestigious SAÏD Business School of Oxford University in Building a Business & Marketing Management in Oxford, UK. David is passionate about community development through education and business. David's most notable successes within loyalty marketing in South Africa are within CRM, brand launches (co-launched the very first Fuel loyalty program in South Africa - collaboration between Clicks ClubCard and Shell Downstream) and winning two loyalty marketing awards with Clicks ClubCard and Woolworths MySchool. David serves the KasiKlippa team as Senior VP on Marketing, Business and Community Development.

“Sir” Chris Mulhall

Co-Founder
Chris, fondly known in our team as Kasi-Mate, is a sales genius. It is exactly 50 years since the launch of the ICL2900 Series. What the…? You may ask. Go and do your homework we say… Chris is exactly why KasiKlippa is so unique, global and the epitome of South African Ubuntu professional corporate business. He is burdened with the purpose to see Africa thrive for all those who not only call Africa their home, but visitors who truly believe in the African agenda - collaborative growth for the people of Africa, by Africans first with truly African partners . Chris is also CEO of OKDoc - a patient centric remote doctors’ app, creating solutions to modern healthcare problems, particularly within the informal economy. OKDoc is driven by a simple vision: to link thousands of healthcare providers with patients online. Chris has a vision and purpose for KasiKlippa to become Africa’s first ecosystem loyalty program that encompasses everything from healthy living to healthy wealth and growth for the continent. He hails out of London UK, is a South African citizen for the past 17 years, and is a modest beer connoisseur with an unmatched heart for the African Continent. Chris serves the KasiKlippa team as SVP on Sales and International Networking.
Sean de Gruchy

Sean de Gruchy

Co-Founder
Sean, yes, that is right; just Sean. Not all our co-founders have nicknames and capes. However their roles are indispensable as they operate below the radar, and without them none of what we do would be noticeable, nor have any impact. Sean, as his name suggests - from the Gaelic, means God (your higher power) is gracious. Sean has over 30 years experience with Seatech, AMD, and Kingsley Technologies. He is also part of the Mentor Group, a sales training company dedicated to empowering sustainable selling in organisations all over the world. The business helps its clients to learn, practice, and embed sales training through world-class people, training, and technology. Sean is indeed the silent wise mentor within the KasiKlippa Team, who has dedicated years of his life to collaborating with informal economy communities to assist them being competitive within the formal business setting in South Africa. Sean serves the KasiKlippa Team as SVP on Finance & IT.

KasiKlippa is South Africa’s very first ecosystem informal economy township-based loyalty program.
